Overview

The 44th Annual Mt. Carmel / Asics Cross Country Invitational will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 at Morley Field in Balboa Park, San Diego California.  The races will be held in the section of the park that is part of the Footlocker National XC Championships were held in 2023.  Over 90% of the race distances are contested on this famed cross country course.

With an individual based format that allows the coach a chance to look at their team in grade level races, the invitational also gives the out of town coach a fine opportunity to take their team to a great competition where after they can go to the beach, visit the world famous San Diego Zoo, or even visit Sea World. 

We will be offering in 2024 a chance for schools with outstanding athletes a Senior / Individual Sweepstakes race for outstanding athletes (no matter what grade) to all race together.

Both Boys and Girls will run a 3-Mile Course. Each race, freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior, will award 50 places for athletes.  We will again offer two division sizes (Large, Small).  In 2023, the meet had over 90 schools competing and more than 2800 runners competing in the sixteen races.  

And just like last year, we will be featuring BIB ONLY timing by Finished Results.

If you are interest in participating in this year's meet we ask that you fill out the online entry information and return as quickly as possible.  We will limit the meet to approximately 100 schools.  This meet will be sanctioned in California, Arizona, Oregon, and Nevada.  Schools will need to sign up ASAP to be guaranteed placement in their proper division size.
